TOHA 2025 will be held September 5–6, 2025, on the campus of Baylor University in Waco, TX!
Baylor University was founded in 1845, making it the oldest continuously operating university in Texas. A private Christian research university, Baylor is classified as an R1 institution and serves more than 20,000 students across a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.
This conference will be the fourteenth annual gathering of the Texas Oral History Association and marks an exciting return to central Texas. TOHA is proud to partner with Baylor’s Institute for Oral History (BUIOH), the institutional home for TOHA, the executive office of the Oral History Association, and a supporter of this year’s conference.
Founded in 1970, the Baylor University Institute for Oral History is one of the oldest and most respected university-based oral history programs in the nation. BUIOH preserves the lived experiences of individuals and communities through high-quality recorded interviews, advancing both scholarly research and public understanding of the past. Its mission has long been to teach, research, and practice oral history at the highest level and to support community-based oral history initiatives across Texas and beyond. 2025 marks 55 years of BUIOH, and we are excited to celebrate this at our conference.
